That was...very intense. Loved how they got right into the war and conflict evolving on the battlefield.

New OP song is nice, personally I like the first season 1 OP > this season's > season 1 OP 2. I'm also quite pleased to see Daryun fighting again along with his allies. Silver Mask in action too. Great to have all the main cast back although I wasn't really expecting Silver Mask to fight against Gieve. ED theme song is alright imo.

0_0 Well damn, that was surprisingly great. I guess with only 8 episodes they're not wasting any time or budget. Forget Gieve vs Silver Mask, which was brilliant, the twist with Arslan's "dad" regaining control was brilliant, and I never saw it coming. It can't last since Arslan needs to be the real liberator, but still! And that teaser with the Queen finally showing emotion! Okay Arslan, you've got my attention! XD

What a great start for season 2 with a new enemy army . The battles were cool . I love the new OP the most in this series mainly cause i love Aoi Eir's voice . So geive is looking also for the sword to have arslan wield as the righteous king meanwhile silvermask needs it to solidify his position as the right king of Pars. Meanwhile Bodin sends his men to steal it. I wonder what he's plotting . Didn't expect andregoras to break free , lol so he was waiting for the iron to rot in the environment . I'm curious though about that ending

I've been waiting so long for looking at Daryun going berserk and Narsus's way of thinking. They just both fit each other perfectly. And Gieve, well he's just good enough by "work alone". LOL

Well they certainly wasted no time jumping right into the action. It was pretty nice, after so long, to be able to hear Daryun's iconic "DENKA" again. Looks like Gieve ran into a bit of trouble against Silver Mask and his group, but now Bodin is back in the picture which makes this sword situation even more of a mess. Andragoras breaking free and reclaiming the throne wasn't something I was expecting.
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

Yay Arslan is back and we jump straight into action. Not much a recap so I imagine people who haven't watched the first season must be plenty confused.

Andragoras escaping and regaining the throne is utterly unexpected. Are we still following the novels? The story here has gone beyond the manga.

AOTS has returned once again, this time to save us from the other fantasy anime airing now that shall not be named.

Just now realized this is only 8 episodes.. god damnit. I guess if someone were to watch this anime in the future it would be 33 episodes, which is not that bad at all. But watching the second season alone is gonna be a short ride :/

Damn, this really started off with a bang. Great episode.

A bit too many plot twists at the same time so it seems pretty rushed. Too bad the LN translations are not up to par.

The OP suggests cool stuff ahead - apparently Arlsan will see that his Dad's back and go "welp, I guess I'll just become pirate then".
tbh I'm pretty hyped about that since I just binged the first season and I'm not sure I'd enjoy another 8 episodes of similar-style battles quite so soon

Great start to season 2 of Arslan Senki! That fight between Gieve and Silver Mask was awesome and i'm really intrigued by that ending - with Andragoras breaking free of his chains and the queen's reaction. Really hoping there'll be more than 8 episodes.

Can someone explain to me how holding a hostage is equivalent to holding a city? Also they can easily shoot him with arrows as the hostage prince is sitting quite far away from him in the scene, and the chamber is quite small. Pretty good ep other than the Androgaros plot-line really made no sense.

The ED foreshadows that something's gonna happen between Arslan and Etoile in the future, but in a way that won't make the shippers upset (like Etoile is in trouble and Arslan saves her).
Anyway the shipping continues.

I think the last scene where it looks like no one is in the city anymore is supposed to hint at how Adragoras was able to overthrow from within. It isn't crazy to believe he could fight almost a whole castle of men alone, with the things we've seen some of the characters do in this anime.

Lol he wouldn't even have to fight them . The fact that the minister's life is in his own hands prevents them from taking chances that can result in his death. He practically kept the man near the throne seat to quickly execute him if anyone tried to enter the room and pull any funny business lol . Plus, this is the king. If the knights are strong as you said, what would this man have hidden in his bag? Though i liked how he fought with the iron chains. yeah when etoile arrived, there was something off about the capital.

They covered so much in one episode, with reasonably good pacing and transitions too! I love the OP (especially badass Arslan with his angry face and all) and the better animation. The foreshadowing in the ED that's not about Etoile gets me going and I can't wait for the rest of this season!

Mmmmm sucks to only see it listed for 8 eps, but I guess the good side of it is the amazing and pretty consistent quality.

Best moment for me this ep (apart from Gieve being Gieve) was seeing Étoile and being able to ship Étoile x Arslan again xD

Andragoras reclaiming the throne?? Wtf?There must've been some traitors inside Lustania that were waiting for this moment or something, it's really weird after all this time.
The teleporting old man is back and the magic element is back with him
Does that sword have magic? probably.

Oh my.... this was such an amazing episode, I really missed the series.

The OP was soo catchy and beautiful <3 it's stuck in my head! ED was also fabulous. Lovely new OST.
Arlsan's look and eyes before the OP ends was sooo goood~~

I'm kinda curious about what Tahamine said and Andragoras's returning twist.

Loved Gieve and Silver Mask's battle. As always Gieve's narcissist side is the BEST!! LOL

Can't wait to see Gieve joining the crew again and them sailing~~

Wow I was expecting this series to be good but this is awesome, it is way better than I could dream of and worthed all the waiting time.

The fight between Gieve and Silver Mask was great to watch, his comical behaviour spice up the fight in such a good way.

So that's why Andragoras was quiet all this time heh? He was so crafty and unexpected.

I can't wait for the next episode. 5/5

Yes, I want to know who she's talking about, too. I seriously doubt it's Arslan, given how she was shown to be really cold to him and not even wanting to talk to him more than absolutely necessary. So novel readers, if there are any in this thread, spoil us a little please?

Great first episode! I love this series so much and I'm so happy that there's more but sadly only 8 episodes. :(

I ship Arslan/Etoile so hard and I hope this becomes canon in the future. I do think its's pretty obvious they're going to fall for each other unless something happens. I was hoping that Elam would fall for Etoile as well.

When Tahamine mentioned a child, it wasn't Arslan, was it? Arslan does look like her but who knows if she's his birth mother. And if she's his mother, I'd guess that Andragoras isn't his father.
I have another theory and that Tahamine was maybe talking about Hermes but maybe this is so far-fetched. I just can't see her as Hermes's mother.

Another thing that confused me and that is when Andragoras told Guiscard that Hermes is dead. If he is, then who is Silvermask? A lot of mysteries and this is one of things I love about this series.

I hope Bodin gets killed and soon. I hate him so much.

Woah, they really didn't wasted any time to jump back into the action. Only the first episode and we have:

-New enemies (the Turan empire) are introduced. For the moment, we didn't see too much of them. Let's see how Arslan willd eal with them.
-Hermes finds a legendary sword, but Gieve steals it and after an awesome fight, Bodin's corps take the sword and escape with it.
-Fucking Andragoras release of his prison and retake Ecbatana like a boss. Probably the most awesome part of the episode.

Now, regarding the queen's words about her son... I think Arslan is in truth her son, but Andragoras isn't the father. That, or his son was very similar to Arslan and for that she take him as his child.
With all those new factions established (+ Shindura), things are going to become pretty exciting. I loved Rajendra's short appearence at the beginning. The guy must be an opportunistic bastard, but he is very funny to see.

Etoille's screentime was short, but is still nice see more of her.

This looks really good. Too bad the series only has 8 episodes.

Its Hermes not Hilmes fff'n subs.

My previous excitement for Arslan Senki is now mostly gone. The focus has turned toward some legendary sword (cliche as fuck) that wasnt important until now.

Andragoras escaping those chains was pretty bs, but I do think its interesting how hes now back in the game again.
-Arslan's party; Hermes; Lucitanian King; Guiscard; Bodin; Shindura; Turan; and now Andragoras
