Maher Mauricio Carrizo (born 19 February 2006) is an Argentine footballer currently playing as a centre-forward for Vélez Sarsfield and for the Argentina national under-20 football team.

Early life

Carrizo started at the age of 5 in a football school for children in his town, Colonia Dora. He then played for a while in the young categories of Central Córdoba.[2]

In 2015 he joined Vélez Sarsfield, where in 2023 he was the top scorer in the young divisions with 26 goals.[3]

He made his debut in the first team on January 17, 2024 against Belgrano, in the Serie Río de La Plata 2024.[4]

In the 2024 Copa Argentina, he played his first official match on August 6, 2024, and scored his first goal as a professional.[5]

International career

He was called up by Diego Placente to the Argentine U-17 national team in November 2023, to play in the U-17 World Cup.[6]

In August 2024, he was called up by Javier Mascherano to the Argentine U-20 football team, to play in international friendlies.[7] In 2025, he was in the group to play in the South American U-20 Championship in Venezuela.[8]
