I maybe in the minority here but I prefer Rimuru in slime form than human form. Seeing him with a body seems like a generic isekai anime now. Also there some sort of hint he's a trap btw.

"Manga readers are annoying, all they do is complain or spoil the anime we discuss in an anime forum.
They should really do their whining at manga forums.

Did they seriously make it so HE assumed the form of the WOMAN, Shizue? That's...really dumb.

Really thought this episode was a nice calm change of pace from the action packed episode last week. I was a little hurt that we lost Shizue as a character for now but it was really nice to see her reunited with her mother. Also, so hyped to see Rimuru’s human form and the mysterious figure at the end got my really intrigued. Excited to see what the future holds for Rimuru and friends.

This anime has already made me cry twice. The first time it was from laughing so hard, and the second was Shizu's passing and the vision of her reuniting with her mother.

This was the "worst" episode for me so far, though because the entire show is so damn good, I still mostly enjoyed it.

My big problem is that so much of Shizue's narrative was reduced to rushed exposition, and assumed the audience would care for her much more than her limited screen time would warrant. She was only introduced a few episodes ago but we - and Rimuru - are suddenly supposed to care deeply about her.

Same thing with the adventuring trio. They acted like they had been travelling with Shizue for months on all kinds of adventures and had gotten really close to her, but aside from a fight with some ants there was no indication of that given to the audience beforehand. They just suddenly had this incredible bond of friendship.

Very weird, almost like the writer just wanted to burn past this story arc as fast as possible. It also didn't help that even non-manga readers like myself knew well in advance what Shizue's fate would be and what Rimuru would transform into, thanks to the spoiler-ific opening. Meh.

Sad to see Shizu go so soon. I really thought she would be around longer than that.

At least we got the explanation with Rimuru’s human form.

The anime failed to mention that shizu and the adventures spent like a month together. The forest is a big place

This whole stupidity of her dying is annoying. what was the point of all the buildup if she just dies? I feel like rage quitting. Rimuru could have fixed her. But no , have to go with this approach. I hate it when writers insert these deus ex machina mechanisms. The show was pretty good until this point. But hey it appears all the power in the world does not change Rimuru being a loser.

No he couldn't have fixed her . He may be able to do many thing he isn't a god .

She was dieing before she even meet him .
He could have created a slime body for her and transferred her consciousness into it. Is a very common thing in fantasy anime. And we know he could have created the body. You do not have to be a god to transfer someone's soul in anime. and there were probably other solutions as well. As I said a loser!

Its not really that shocking. It was the Ifrit that was sustaining her life. If you noticed she quickly reverted to an old body. She literally aged 80 some years in a matter of minutes.

By absorbing her, he both literally and figuratively inherited her will.
I gotcha bro.....I was just under the impression that she wasn't gonna die and would join him in his travels

I am unsure about this. He is not the smartest in the bunch if you know what I mean. Maybe he never considered the possibility so that he could ask that computer that answers stuff in his head. About Veldora, Veldora is more magic than material. If his consciousness could pass the magic cage he probably would have done this by now by himself. So i would say is a different situation.

Veldora is trapped in the field so it would not be easier. And yes it depends on how things work in the Universe of slime. But based on a number of clues it seems to work based on the buddhist planes of existence model. So this should be possible in a plane of existence with such potent magic.

Ah tipical elitish / elit shit normies comment every kind anime, a normies harem echi that dislike his "waifu dead". "I see your status liking bikini warriors".

Rimuru not a god, he looks strong because everyone around him now just a normal people, in rimuru world he is very weak compare demon Lord.

Also shut up, watching free anime and comment shit. You are not the one writing a story or have money to make anime.

Also stop watching harem anime and OP mc that can do anything, you better start watching full metal alchemist brotherhood now.

because this anime not about OP mc can do anything, tensei slime dattaken is about

yes, it was a dude, but as a slime it's genderless, he considers himself as a he even in that form.
he doesn't have genitalia also.
he can make his body more male or feminine.
he choose the form of a kid, he can seem like a boy or girl.

Is just my opinion. I did write stories in the past, and I is not an easy task. But is in my nature to find solutions to things. Also is disappointing to have a great character killed so soon. Not sure what you mean about bikini warrior , I like lots of types of anime. I watched a few episodes of full metal alchemist the original series. Found it pretty boring and dropped it.

Just wish Overlord and Re:Zero (to a lesser extent) could receive less volume per episode (Overlord being the worse offender) to be able to flesh out the world...

And they already include the foreshadowing for Rimuru next threat, the Orc Disaster and sinister plan on the Forest of Jura yet known to Rimuru,... and too bad they skip

I'm glad Rimuru can switch between his Blue Shizu human form and slime form. I still prefer him as a slime but his cute slime voice still remains.

That scene with Shizu dying and her seeing her mother one last time in her dream before her death was so sweet and made me tear up a bit.

So that's what that elf fortune teller meant when she said that Rimuru and Shizu were destined. They were destined to be one. If Rimuru dies in this world will he and Shizu be reincarnated together? Will they find each other?

By the way, is Rimuru's human form female too? I read somewhere that in the manga he lost his sausage.

I always look forward to this anime every week :) I don't want to read the manga yet because I want to savor this as an Anime-only viewer. I have lots of manga on my currently-reading list anyway although not updated on MAL.

Show didn't do a good job in explaining why Shizu needed to die, it hasn't been explained anywhere. I've read manga, it did have parts anime does not, and I vaguely remember healing wasn't working on her, but from the way anime presented it she seemed tired psychically, rather than being old physically. But it doesn't matter that much. As far as care, she needed to die for protagonist to unlock his human form.
Signature removed. It was too good for this cruel world.

When making an anime adaptation it's normal to have something left out, eventhough this ep could explain more about shizu situation, they decided not to.

Instead they focus on emotional feel and character interaction, If you want to understand more than read the LN thats basicly the situation (well in a good way unlike overlord)

Ps: dude stop spoiling it, it will be explained in the next ep, even the manga explain it in the next chapter lol 😅

Finally this arc is over. It honestly felt a little bit long to drag one light novel worth of plot into 8 episodes, but fortunately it was done great with the anime being faithful to the LN and having such care from the studio for each episode in this arc.

Hope that the Ogre arc is going to be great, as there is an amazing fight scene that is going to happen within the arc :)

Damn it, Shizue, I wish that you're happy in your dream world now. Shizu's fate was saddening but now Rimuru has a new goal in mind, I'm now excited for what this show has in store for the next episodes.

Wait, what? I thought they were destined to be together! I mean, they are one now, so it's almost the same thing, I wasn't prepared for this. Can he resummon her later? I mean, she appears in some parts of the opening theme song, so probably, the same goes for Veldora.
